The size of the grounds, the 1-1 show round with Jenna. Other venues we looked at just handed us a brochure and left us to it. The number of ceremony locations to choose from was astonishing and the flexibility of the menu - We never wanted a sit down meal and it was nice to be able to have somewhere that allowed that.

What made Oakley Hall stand out for you as a wedding venue?

We liked the colours in general. The first thing we ordered was Theo's Suit so we matched the colours to what he liked.

What inspired you to choose the decor & colour scheme of your wedding?

The Ceremony under the beautiful Woodland Pavilion

What was the most memorable part of your day?

The woodlands, there is a tree with lots of low branches that made for some great memorable photos.

Where was your favourite photo spot?

Being able to have our friends who live abroad spend time with us, especially since we are not always able to see each other in person.

What made your day extra special?

Give yourself time to order things in case they don't match what you have. We had to send back ties more than once as they didn't quite match the suits. Take photos of the venues you look round. Especially if you are looking at multiple, it'll help you remember which one you like best. Pinterest boards - Great to use for colour options, hair styles etc, it was great to see that Oakley Hall had one from past weddings as well! Join facebook groups if you can, lots of people sell on there after their wedding so you may be able to grab some deals for things like table centres if you're planning to do a DIY wedding.

Do you have any top tips for other couples planning their wedding?

We were able to choose to have a BBQ buffet rather than a sit down meal which was perfect for us as it meant we were able to wonder and speak to our guests rather than sit and eat. We particularly liked the burger, chips and the Halloumi.
