Seasonal dining in Hampshire

Dining at the Glasshouse Restaurant

The Glasshouse Restaurant is arguably one of Hampshire’s most down-to-earth yet desirable places to eat. Whether you’re looking for a romantic spot to have an intimate dinner with your someone special or a relaxed setting to get together with the whole family over a Sunday Roast, our versatile restaurant welcomes a relaxing, laid-back atmosphere for all guests.

Our Head Chef and kitchen team take pride in creating seasonal dishes that reflect the time of year you choose to dine. Each menu is inspired by locally sourced and home-grown produce, from melt-in-the-mouth meats and freshly caught seafood to Hampshire’s very own vegetables and fruits.

Oakley Hall Hotel, which is home to the Glasshouse Restaurant, is set amongst over 300 acres of estate gardens & woodlands, which sets the most picturesque setting for your seasonal meal or Afternoon Tea. Whether it be frosty or dew-covered lawns to colourful Spring and Summer flowers, you will certainly not be left disappointed.

Seasonality and locality are what we are most proud of, as well as serving the most tantalising dishes to you and your guests. You can pick from our set menus or a la carte menu options.

The county of Hampshire welcomes each and every season throughout the year, from crisp frost mornings in the Winter to sun-filled days in the Summer. And with each season, comes the irresistible flavours of the seasonally grown and farmed ingredients.

Spring & Summer
The days are longer and the weather is warmer, so the fresh fruit and veggies are at their ripest. Picture juicy tomatoes & strawberries from the Isle of Wight, freshly caught fish & shellfish from the Solent and succulent meats sourced from nearby farms. Our Spring & Summer menus bring vibrancy, fragrant flavours and refreshing aromas that will leave your taste buds wanting more and more.

Autumn & Winter
Hearty dishes and cosy settings would be the perfect words to describe Autumn & Winter in the Glasshouse Restaurant. Envision a delicate mouthful of pheasant or earthy pumpkin, celeriac and wild mushrooms. These colder months are also the most popular for our warming Sunday Roasts, which are packed full of sumptuous flavours.

As an independent property, our Head Chef and kitchen team design the menus for our restaurant and our restaurant alone. Every dish is unique, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for all. Whilst many of our dishes are delicate in taste and style, there will always be a ‘classic’ plate or two for those who just want a filling meal! Whether that be a beef or chicken burger, fish & chips or a pie of the day.
