Oakley Hall Hotel is a one-of-a-kind Georgian manor home wedding venue that’s nestled in the North Hampshire countryside, just an hour from central London. Our independently owned, family-run venue understands the importance of tradition and family, which is why we are thrilled that you are considering our venue for your Afro-Caribbean wedding.

Our hotel is the perfect setting for your cultural wedding celebrations. Our large capacity function spaces & original Georgian interior provide an ideal backdrop for your vibrant celebrations, from energy-filled entrances with traditional Doundounba drums & dancing to lavish buffets highlighting flavourful Caribbean, African or fusion dishes.

As an independently owned wedding venue we can offer flexibility to our couples, arguably more so than other venues. We can work around your timings, your caterers and your preferences to provide the wedding day of your dreams.

When you book your Afro-Caribbean wedding at Oakley Hall, you will have the option to choose your own caterers or take your pick from one of the pre-approved caterers from our Recommended Suppliers list. Traditional food is at the heart of many African & Caribbean weddings, so it only seems right that you choose the caterer that best suits you and your guests! From spicy Jamaican stews & traditional black cake with rum to West African fried plantain, goat stews & salt fish, the choice is entirely yours! With Oakley Hall’s Dry Hire package, your caterers will have exclusive use of our Garden Pavilion kitchen which includes cooking equipment, fridge/freezer space and washing equipment.

The Garden Pavilion is Oakley Hall’s large capacity wedding space which can host up to 350 of your nearest and dearest. With double doors leading to our woodlands, no sound limiter and a private bar – it’s the ideal space for your vibrant celebrations. Couples are always welcome to hire live entertainment including African drums and DJs. The Garden Pavilion’s neutral colour scheme sets the perfect ‘blank canvas’ for your colour scheme and decorations, whether you’re wanting vibrant colours in true Afro-Caribbean style or pastel hues with a Western twist.

Depending on your preferences and heritage, some couples opt for multi-day weddings. Oakley Hall is available for hire over multiple days or weekends which gives you plenty of time for your celebrations. You can choose to hire our venue on a Dry Hire basis or on an Exclusive Use basis depending on the level of privacy and amount of space you desire for your special day.

Oakley Hall is a flexible wedding venue that is the perfect setting for your African wedding or Caribbean wedding, whether you want to celebrate with traditions through and through or wanting to put a modern twist on your day. Think of our venue as a 'blank canvas' that you can build on to make the wedding day of your dreams. With our Dry Hire package you will have the freedom to design your day, from choice of caterers & suppliers to the running order & decor.

For Afro-Caribbean weddings, having the space to perform vibrant dances and traditional ceremonies is essential. Oakley Hall is one of Hampshire's largest event spaces, with our Garden Pavilion hosting up to 350 guests. Our venue provides you and your guests with ample space for traditional African or Caribbean ceremonies, such as the intimate Libation ceremony, and a beautiful backdrop for your entry dances.

For couples who are looking for a multi-wedding wedding venue in Hampshire, Oakley Hall offers two different options for you to choose from. Couples can either hire Oakley Hall on a Dry Hire basis for multiple days or they can hire the venue with our Exclusive Use packages.

The Garden Pavilion - A grand space for celebrations

The Garden Pavilion is Oakley Hall's beautiful large capacity wedding space, seating up to 350 guests for a banquet-style reception. Picture elegantly draping fabric across the ceiling, changeable coloured up-lighters, twinkling lights on the ceiling and an outdoor private terrace with fairy lights. It's undeniably one of the most magical spots for your wedding day and celebrations! And with it's neutral interior design, your bright & beautiful colour schemes will look stunning!

For your caterers, the Garden Pavilion is fitted with a fully functioning professional kitchen that includes: a walk-in fridge, 3 combi ovens and a 6 burner stove/range oven. There will also be available 5 bottle coolers in the Garden Pavilion bar. Your caterers will have access to the kitchen, bar and Garden Pavilion space from 7am the day of your wedding until 1am the following morning.

Afro-Caribbean Wedding Packages

Our Dry Hire package includes everything you need for your special day. We want your dry hire wedding planning journey to be as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, so our ready-made Afro-Caribbean wedding package includes all of the necessities with the option to add extras as and when you need! Our 2026 Dry Hire package prices start from £9,500 and are applicable to the season.

 

Here's what is included in our Dry Hire package:

- Private use of our wedding and event spaces: the Garden Pavilion, Garden Pavilion Terrace, Garden Pavilion Bar, Garden Suite, Garden Terrace and Main House Bar (timings restrictions apply)
- Your chosen caterer's use of the Garden Pavilion kitchen
- Private dedicated entrance to Oakley Hall
- Private car park with up to 200 spaces
- Chivari chairs & tables to seat up to 350 guests
- 2 changing rooms to use throughout the day (timing restrictions apply)
- 1 suite for the couple on the night of the wedding
- An assigned Oakley Hall Representative for the day(s)
- Housekeeping as required throughout the day(s)

Multi-day weddings:

We understand that for some, there just isn't enough time in one day for all of your wedding celebrations. Couples can hire Oakley Hall over multiple days to extend their partying for even longer. Our venue can be hired across multiple days with our Dry Hire package or for couples who want more exclusivity, our exclusive packages are an alternative option.

Accommodation for your wedding guests

Oakley Hall is a stunning Hampshire manor house and a home to 47 beautiful bedrooms & suites and the quaint 3 bedroom Garden Cottage, all of which can sleep 127 guests in total. All are designed with the highest of standards and make the cosiest spot for you and your guests to relax in after the celebrations. All of our weddings are guaranteed a wedding rate starting from £225 for a Deluxe Bedroom. If you're looking to book a large number of bedrooms for your special day, you can contract to a minimum of 15 to receive an exclusive wedding accommodation rate which can be offered to your guests.

For brides or grooms who are looking for a dedicated space for their wedding preparations, our Whitchurch Suite is the perfect spot. It offers 3 light up vanity mirrors, 2 hair dresser chairs, mini drinks fridge, Sonos speakers, curtained off dressing area, cosy lounge area and a toilet & sink.

Our wedding venue is located just an hour from central London in the North Hampshire countryside, which provides a convenient spot for your guests to travel to. For guests travelling from London and the East, it's a quick trip on the M25 and M3 before coming off at Junction 6 or 7. Guests coming from the West can travel on the M4 or the A303. And those from the North can travel down on the A34. Southampton, Gatwick and Heathrow Airports are all within a 60 minute drive of our venue. Oakley Hall has great connection to some very convenient transport links!

For guests who are travelling from abroad and want to make the most out of their time in Hampshire, we can provide you with our top recommendations of local attractions for you to visit! Basingstoke is the closest large town to our venue and offers an exciting selection of shops & restaurants to explore. There is a bus stop located directly outside Oakley Hall which can take you right into the town centre, or alternatively we would be happy to book you a taxi to take you where you need to go.

  • What makes Oakley Hall a great venue for Afro-Caribbean weddings?

    Oakley Hall is one of Hampshire's largest event spaces, offering ample space for your vibrant & energetic Afro-Caribbean wedding celebrations. The large capacity Garden Pavilion, which has a private bar, private kitchen for your caterers, private terrace and private car park, seats up to 350 guests for your wedding banquet. The 300 + acres sets the most romantic scene for your reception drinks and wedding photography whilst the 50 onsite bedrooms can accommodate large groups of your friends and family.

    With great transport links to London, Oakley Hall is the venue of choice for many African weddings, Caribbean weddings as well as a mix of Afro-Caribbean weddings.

  • Can we bring our own Caribbean caterers?

    Absolutely! You are more than welcome to bring your own caterers. All we ask is that they meet with a member of our Senior Management team prior to your wedding day. An onboarding fee will be charged to the couple for any external caterers. Alternatively, you can hire a caterer from our recommended suppliers.

  • Does Oakley Hall allow live bands and DJs?

    Yes, we do! Couples are more than welcome to bring live bands and DJs for their wedding day. Your live band and DJ will be required to provide evidence of Public Liability Insurance and PAT testing prior to the wedding day.   • How many guests can attend an Afro-Caribbean wedding at Oakley Hall?

    Depending on the layout of your wedding set-up, Oakley Hall can accommodate up to 350 guests for your wedding celebrations in the Garden Pavilion. For a smaller ceremony or celebration, our Garden Suite can accommodate up to 160 guests.

  • Can we host a Libation ceremony or other traditional rituals here?

    Of course! Our wedding venue provides plenty of space and beautiful backdrops for your traditional Afro-Caribbean wedding celebrations. If you would like to include traditional ceremonies (like a libation ceremony) and rituals within your wedding day, this will need to be discussed with your wedding caterers/planners.

  • Can we book Oakley Hall for a weekend-long celebration?

    You certainly can! We would be delighted to host your weekend-long wedding celebration. Depending on what your requirements are, you will have multiple options to choose from for your multi-day wedding. We would recommend having a chat with one of our friendly Wedding & Event Co-ordinators who can talk you through the different options.

  • Does Oakley Hall provide recommended supplier for Caribbean wedding?

    Oakley Hall currently works with one recommended supplier for Afro-Caribbean weddings, Ragasaan. We are in the process of working with more suppliers in the future, so for the time being if you have an Afro-Caribbean caterer in mind please do let us know!
